We made it!

We started out our journey on Wednesday morning... it was quite funny cause we really did think that we would leave at 5.30am however... when it got to 5.30 we were far from ready Ha! So it ended up we left about 6am.

Stopped to pick up Vince Brown who accompanied us and helped us with the driving. This the furthest I have have driven, so I was excited and nervous all at the same time. I think the journey is about 1400 miles.

For the first leg we headed to Sacramento... it was a beautiful drive. In the car with me I had Allison and Fina. Fina was sitting right beside me in the passenger seat. Part of the way through the desert Allison asked to go to the toilet. I had brought the potty with me for that reason. So I pulled over the car and opened the door to get the potty out of the trunk. As I did, Fina decided to jump out of the car right into the middle of the I10. The speed limit is 75 on this road. It is Gods grace that at that moment there were no 40ft truck trailers passing our car. She was heading for the middle of the road. Somehow I was able to reach out and grab her before she was hit by a car or truck. My heart stopped in my chest for a moment... I could not believe that she was actually still alive.

Next stop we made was in Fresno. As I was driving through I was thinking about Larry and Ann Dimond and how I wished they were still there so we could go and see them. We stopped at a gas station and had a little something to eat and then continued our journey to Sacramento.

Wow was I glad when we reached Sacramento. We got there and in our at 11.40pm. That was a long day. I don't even remember sleeping. It was so quick. But it was so great to get up and showered, cause I knew the next part of the journey would be a really long one.

The next stop we made was in Redding Ca. It was a breathtaking trip. It is incredible how the scenery changing the further north you travel. We could see Mt. Shasta for miles before we ever got close to it. And as we got closer it did not disappoint.

We rolled into Portland at about 7pm in the evening. Gods grace was with us throughout our intire journey. It is really great to be here and to see what God has instore for us. Please continue to pray for us as we search for a place to live at the right price. Thank you for all your love and support.
